“SANID campaign”, Stand up for UAE Detainees, is a human rights campaign launched by a coalition of rights groups and activists working on human rights advocacy in the UAE.
The campaign aims to help release all prisoners of conscience in the United Arab Emirates, to stop all forms of human rights violations against the detainees and their families, to close all illegal detention centres such as “Munasaha centres” and secret prisons, and to put an end to the use of the State Security Law to suppress human rights activism.
The campaign includes a series of media and human rights activities with the aim of raising awareness of the prisoners of conscience issue in the UAE, and supporting them by all possible means till their release from UAE jails.
Actions and activities include webinars, press releases, a petition, and open letters to the UAE high-profile officials calling for the release of all prisoners of conscience and an end to the ongoing violations they are subjected to.
SANID campaign will also direct its efforts to brief the international human rights organisations and the international delegation participating in the 2023 United Nations Climate Change Conference “COP 28” hosted by the UAE about the human rights violations in the Gulf country.
